Ludwik Kotecki jest członkiem Rady Polityki Pieniężnej V kadencji. Do momentu powołania do RPP był doradcą ekonomicznym Marszałka Senatu RP. W latach 2017-2021 był konsultantem ekonomicznym i doradcą wielu instytucji i organizacji międzynarodowych. Jest pionierem zielonych finansów w Polsce. Dyrektor Instytutu Odpowiedzialnych Finansów, ekspert Centrum Myśli Strategicznych i Europejskiego Kongresu Finansowego. Członek Team Europe w Polsce. W latach 2017-2022 pełnił także funkcję Głównego Ekonomisty Caritas Polska. W latach 2015-2016 pełnił funkcję zastępcy dyrektora wykonawczego w Międzynarodowym Funduszu Walutowym w Waszyngtonie. W latach 2012-2015 był Głównym Ekonomistą Ministerstwa Finansów członkiem KNF i Przewodniczącym Rady BFG. W latach 2008-2012 pełnił funkcje wiceministra finansów oraz Pełnomocnika Rządu do Spraw Wprowadzenia Euro w Polsce.
Ludwik Kotecki is a member of the Monetary Policy Council in the term 2022-2028. He was an economic advisor to the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland in 2019-2021. In the period 2017-2021 he was an economic and financial consultant and advisor to some international organizations. In recent years a green finance propagator and advisor, Director of Responsible Finance Institute (2019-2022), an expert for the Center for Strategic Mindset and the European Financial Congress. Member of Team Europe in Poland. Chief Economist of Caritas Poland. In 2015-2016 he served as Alternate Executive Director in the IMF in Washington DC. Before that he spent almost twenty years in Polish Ministry of Finance, most recently as Chief Economist (2012-2015) and Deputy Minister (2008-2012). In 2012 – 2015 Member of Polish Financial Supervision Authority and Chairman of the Council of the Deposit Guarantee Fund. In the years 2009-2012, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Euro Introduction in Poland.
