Szymon Ogonowski, PhD, DSc, Professor of Silesian University of Technology at the Department of Measurements and Control Systems at the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics and Computer Science. A specialist in the design and implementation of multi-level control systems incorporating indirect measurements, Edge Computing, and the Industrial Internet of Things. Co-Coordinator of the Priority Research Area of Silesian University of Technology "Process Automation and Industry 4.0".
Since 2021, he has been actively engaged in the development of the EURECA-PRO European University, with a particular focus on establishing joint research structures. At the Silesian University of Technology, he also coordinates the project "Heritage and Innovation in EURECA-PRO," which is dedicated to the preservation of industrial, cultural, and mining heritage through the application of digital transformation advancements, as well as to addressing the societal challenges emerging from this transformation.
