Post-doctoral degree in Earth sciences in geography and Master's degree in economics. Assistant professor at the Institute of Social and Economic Geography and Spatial Management at the Faculty of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia. Local government employee in the years 2000-2008. Deals with the issues of local and regional development. It specializes in population studies, quality of life, labour market issues, spatial planning, and revitalization. Head of research commissioned by the Supreme Audit Office, the Gornoslaska-Zaglebiowska Metropolis and the City of Sosnowiec. Expert in the economy and labour market component in developing the National Urban Policy. Co-author of research contributing to the just transformation plan at the national and regional level. Author of over 70 scientific publications, including author or co-author of more than 10 books.
