Roman Marcinek
Vice-President, Association of Conservators of Monuments
Historian. Since 1992, he has been continuously working at the Kraków branch of the Centre for the Documentation of Monuments (and later its subsequent institutional mutations), and in the years 2000–2007 he was the director of this institution. He specializes in the issues of history and protection of monuments and cultural landscape. He devoted a lot of attention to, m.in other things, documentation and monitoring of Monuments of History and places of special importance for heritage.
Over the years, he has developed and developed the methodology of historical studies for landscape complexes and historic parks (m.in. Wilanów, Krzyżtoór, Mogilany, Krasiczyn, Bielany, Tyniec). For his activities, he was honoured with the Golden Badge for the Care of Monuments, the Gloria Artis and Meritorious for Małopolska medals, the Silver Cross of Merit and the Gerard Ciołek Award.
