Renata Mroczek
Vice-President, Energy Regulatory Office
Renata Mroczek graduated from the Faculty of Law at the University of Łódź, where she also completed postgraduate studies in European Funds. She further pursued postgraduate studies in management at the Poznań University of Economics and is certified as an Integrated Management Systems Representative, specialising in quality, environmental, and occupational health and safety management.
Ms Mroczek is a recognised expert in energy law and administrative proceedings, with a particular focus on administrative liability for breaches of statutory obligations and licence conditions.
Since April 2017, she has served as Director of the Mid-Western Territorial Branch of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) in Łódź. This is the largest regional unit, covering the Mazowieckie and Łódzkie Voivodeships, where she dealt with a wide range of issues in the heat, electricity (including energy storage and renewable energy sources), gaseous fuels, and liquid fuels sectors.
As Deputy Chairwoman of the Heat Sector Team, appointed by the President of the URE, she has actively contributed to developing solutions that support investment and transformation within the heat sector, including the design of a new regulatory model.
Prior to joining the URE, Ms Mroczek briefly worked in banking before spending several years in healthcare. Most recently, she was Deputy Director of a multi-specialist hospital – one of the largest facilities in the Łódź Province – where she gained extensive experience in managing personnel, complex organisational structures, and multi-million-pound projects and processes.
Following an open competition, Ms Mroczek was selected as Vice President of the URE and was officially appointed on 30 October 2024 by President Rafał Gawin.
