Jacek Wojciechowicz
Mayor of Racibórz
Jacek Wojciechowicz – Polish politician and local government official. He graduated in law from the University of Silesia in 1990. Between 1990 and 1994, he served as Deputy Mayor of Racibórz. In the second half of the 1990s, he began his involvement in Warsaw's local government, holding positions such as Deputy Mayor of the Warsaw-Wawer district, Mayor of Wesoła, and Deputy Mayor of Targówek.
In 2006, he assumed the role of First Deputy to the Mayor of Warsaw, Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, a position he held for a decade.
During this time, he oversaw the implementation of key investments in the capital, including the completion of the first metro line and the construction of the second metro line, the construction of the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Bridge, the Copernicus Science Center, Legia Stadium, the Museum of the History of Polish Jews, the modernization of the tram network, and the revitalization of the Vistula riverfront boulevards. He was responsible for coordinating the investment budget, tourism, architecture, urban planning, and implementing modern infrastructure solutions.
In 2024, he won the election to become the Mayor of Racibórz.
