Iwona Jelonek, PhD, DSc, Associate Professor, MBA – a petrology and organic geochemistry expert employed at the Institute of Natural Sciences of the University of Silesia in Katowice, Director of the Centre for Biomass Energy Research and Education. Her work involves the assessment of the quality of solid fuels and the coal carbonisation process, as well as biomass production and combustion.
She specialises in the search for renewable energy sources, including natural heat sources. She combines scientific knowledge with industry expertise
to develop cutting-edge technologies aimed at improving air quality and protecting the environment.
Iwona Jelonek's scientific activity concerns science communication in the area of renewable energy sources and the relationship between energy and the natural and social environment, as well as supporting modern solutions in renewable energy
sources, energy efficiency, alternative fuels, and ecological waste disposal.
