Ionela Cuciureanu
International Relations Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Romania
Ionela Cuciureanu is Foreign Affairs Advisor to the Minister of Energy of Romania. With a background in energy policy, she previously served as a Policy Advisor for the Federation of Energy Utility Companies, contributing to strategic policy development and regulatory affairs in the energy sector. Before transitioning into energy policy, Ionela practiced law, leveraging her expertise in European and international legal frameworks.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Law from the University of Bucharest and a Bachelor’s degree in European Law from the University Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne.In addition to her governmental role, she is an Associate Assistant Professor at the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies, where she contributes to academic research and policy discussions on European and energy affairs. She is also an active member of several think tanks focused on European Union policy, energy transition, and regulatory frameworks. With a strong commitment to fostering international collaboration and advancing sustainable energy policies, Ionela Cuciureanu is dedicated to a comprehensive perspective on the intersection of law, policy and energy governance.
