Florence Baron-Papillon
Head of Strategic Projects, Corporate Public Affairs & Policy, Sanofi
Florence is currently leading Strategic Projects for Corporate Public Affairs at Sanofi, driving the
corporate affairs strategy, external partnerships and cross-functional work related to strategic M&S
and R&D industrial investments of Sanofi in key EU countries. Between 2020 and 2024, she has been
leading Sanofi external engagement across Europe - EU institutions and EU/country stakeholders - on
policy and legislative topics related to healthcare incl. health innovation and competitiveness (including
the Health IPCEI Med4Cure), health care
system sustainability, access & procurement, pandemic
response & preparedness,
healthcare, supply & industrial strategy, digital health/AI, and pharma
legislation.
She is the President of Vaccines Europe Board since September 2022 (2nd mandate) and co-chair of the
Vaccines Europe/EFPIA biopreparedness taskforce leading industry interactions with EU Commission
DG HERA. She has been active in trade associations for more than 10 years, in particular by contributing
to COVID-19 vaccine access, EU Joint Action on Vaccination, influenza and adult immunisation,
sustainable supply and HTA topics.
Over her 20+ year career, she occupied various positions from health economics & outcome research
to market access / HTA and policy affairs in Europe, in consulting companies and Sanofi Pasteur-MSD,
before joining Sanofi in 2017. She has an extensive knowledge of the vaccines business and European
policies, market access and scientific partnerships dynamics
.
Education: Doctor in Pharmacy and post-graduate degree in health economics and business from
EMLyon Business School. Graduated in HTA, and in vaccinology.
