Ludwik Kotecki

Ludwik Kotecki is an independent economic and financial consultant and advisor to different national and international organizations, including the UNDP, the IBRD and the IMF. In recent years, a green finance propagator, founder and director of Responsible Finance Institute in Poland. Author and editor of the first comprehensive report on green finance in Poland in 2020 and co-author of practical guide for potential issuers on how to issue green bond.
He is an expert for the Polish Center for Strategic Mindset and the European Financial Congress. He is an economic advisor to the Speaker of the Senate of the Republic of Poland. Member of Team Europe in Poland. Chief Economist of Caritas Poland.
In 2018 he was an advisor to the Indonesian government on the issuance of green bonds and green sukuks (first ever issuance of green Islamic bonds). His responsibility included the preparation of the Report for Investors and capacity building in the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia.
In 2015-2016 he served as Alternate Executive Director in the IMF in Washington DC, representing Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Poland, Serbia, Switzerland, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan at the IMF Board.
Before that he spent almost twenty years in Polish Ministry of Finance, most recently as Chief Economist (2012-2015) and Deputy Minister (2008-2012). In 2012 – 2015 he was a member of Polish Financial Supervision Authority, institution responsible for regulating and supervising financial market in Poland. He was Chairman of the Council of the Deposit Guarantee Fund in 2012-2015. In the years 2009-2012, the Government Plenipotentiary for the Euro Introduction in Poland.
