Bartłomiej Guzik
Director of the 5th Military Research Hospital and Policlinic in Kraków
Dr. Hab. Bartłomiej Guzik, prof. UJ serves as the Director of the 5th Military Clinical Hospital with Polyclinic SPZOZ in Kraków. He is the Proxy of the Rector for the Jagiellonian University for Collegium Medicum, the founder and president of the Foundation of the Center for Medical Charity named after Prof. Teresa Adamek-Guzik and Jan Guzik, and a member of the Polish Association of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. He is the initiator of the "Doctors Africa" mission, which involves medical trips to Tanzania and Uganda, providing medical equipment and training for local doctors, paramedics, and nurses. His scientific research and main areas of study include, among others: hypertension and the significance of the inflammatory process and endothelial dysfunction in its etiopathogenesis, impairment of coronary microcirculation, interventional treatment of heart diseases with a particular focus on ischemic heart disease, and sports cardiology with a special emphasis on functional and performance tests. He is the author of 71 publications and numerous conference reports, both national and international.
