Kasha Piquette was appointed as Associate Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Relations in February 2024 and was entrusted with establishing a Sustainability and Emissions Reduction Innovation Secretariat within Alberta’s Executive Council. Prior to this appointment, Kasha was Deputy Minister of Alberta Environment and Protected Areas from October 2022 to February 2024, where she spearheaded the development of Alberta’s Emissions Reduction and Energy Development plan.

Kasha has previously worked with Invest Alberta Corporation and has held leadership positions within Canadian and international charter banks. Kasha has over 20 years of international leadership experience in governance, finance, and capital markets with special interest in environmental issues.

Kasha also has a wide and diverse educational background having graduated with an international MBA from the Warsaw School of Economics, and holding several professional designations, including Certified Financial Planner (CFP-Canada), Certified International Wealth Manager (CIWM), Fellow of Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI), Certification in ESG (environmental, social and governance) Investing, and is active CFA Institute member.
