Minister-Counsellor for Economic Affairs, Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland

Jennifer Tyldesley assumed the position of Minister Counsellor at the British Embassy in Warsaw in August 2023. 

Prior to undertaking her current role, she served as the Deputy Director of Economic Security within the then Department for Digital, Culture, Media, and Sport. In this capacity, she oversaw the development and implementation of the UK's semiconductor strategy, conducted investment screening in the technology industry, and led an Expert Led Review of the Future of Compute. 

Jennifer Tyldesley commenced her career with the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 2010, specializing in economic matters. Throughout her professional journey, she has engaged with topics such as climate change, trade, and technology issues, including an overseas posting in China. Additionally, she dedicated two years to coordinating the UK's China policy from the Cabinet Office. 

Possessing a solid academic foundation, Jen studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics, complemented by a Masters Degree in Development Economics. Prior to joining the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, she contributed two years of service as a health economist in Eswatini.
