Professor Ghaleb Albreiki is the Acting Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) Furthermore, Prof. Albreiki has been appointed as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs (Provost) from August 2016 to Jan 2021 and reappointed from June 2023 to the current date.
Prof. Albreiki held the position of Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies and Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Registration from 2014 to 2016.
He served as the Dean of the College of Food and Agriculture, UAEU from 2007 till 2014. Besides, he held the post of the Vice Dean for 3 years, the Assistant Dean for Research for 6 years, and Chair of the Animal Production Department from 1994 to 1998.
Professor Albreiki joined the Emirates Scientists Council in 2016. Additionally, he has been elected as the President of the Asian Universities Alliance for 2023-2026. Moreover, Prof. Albreiki served on the Board of Trustees of the National Space Science and Technology Center from 2020 to 2023.
He has also been the Secretary General of the Date Palm Friends Society since 2019, a member of the UAEU Expo 2020 Dubai Advisory Board Council since 2016, and a member of the Emirates Scientists Council since 2016.
Prof. Albreiki is the author of 2 books and 4 book chapters. He has published over 60 scientific papers in refereed conferences and scientific journals.
Prof. Albreiki received his PhD in Nutritional Sciences in 1991 from the University of Arizona, USA.
