Arafat Al Yafei is currently the Executive Director of the Industrial
Development bureau at Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development.
His responsibilities include leading the bureau to regulate the industrial
sector in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and meeting the needs of industrial
investors, enabling industrial growth and increasing the competitiveness of
Abu Dhabi.
Prior of joining IDB, Eng AlYafei held several executive roles in different
sectors including the Defense sector, where he was the Chief Executive
Officer of Lahab the leading UAE Defense company specializing in
ammunition manufacturing and advanced technology.

AlYafei has also a wide experience in the energy sector as he led the
efforts to establish the first commercial establishment in the Middle East
for Carbon Capture and storage and became its Chief Executive Officer He
also held several senior positions with _Abu Dhabi National Company
( and the French giant _Total Energies_ in the fields of Oil
production operations, Gas Resources Development, R&D
Arafat Al Yafei holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical
Engineering from UAE University, along with a Master of Science degree
from Institute Francaises du Petrol ( and executive leadership program
from London Business School
