Petro Poroshenko is the Chairman of the Political Party “European Solidarity”, co-Chairman of the parliamentary group of «European Solidarity» and the 5th President of Ukraine (2014-2019). Petro Poroshenko was born in the city of Bolhrad, Odesa region, on September 26, 1965. In 1989 he graduated from Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University with a Diploma in International Economic Relations. From 1993 to 1998, he served as CEO of "Ukrprominvest". In 1998 he started his political career with election as a Member of the Parliament of Ukraine. In 2000-2005 he served as the Deputy Head of the National Bank Council and then Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council. In 2006 he was elected as Member of the Parliament. In 2009 he was the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and in 2012 - the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine. In November 2013-February 2014 he was one of the key leaders of the Revolution of Dignity. In May 2014 Poroshenko won the early presidential elections and became the 5th President of Ukraine. The conclusion of Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, introduction of visa-free regime with the EU, creation of new NATO-standard Armed Forces, autocephaly of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine are among the key achievements of his presidency. After defeat in 2019 presidential elections Petro Poroshenko was elected as the Chairman of the Political Party “European Solidarity”. In 1998 Mr. Poroshenko established a Charity Fund which carries out charity projects in various spheres of social life. Since launch of Russian invasion in February 2022 Petro Poroshenko donated about 50 mln USD to strengthen the resilience of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
