She has been working for ING since 1996 when she started work in the corporate part of the ING Bank N.V. Branch in Warsaw. Earlier, in 1995-1996, she was working at the Marketing Department of Bank Pekao SA. In 2001-2007, she was the Strategic Clients Centre Director at the Corporate Banking Division of ING Bank Śląski. In 2007, she assumed the position of the Strategic Clients Department Director and in 2010 she was promoted to the Bank Executive Director supervising the Strategic Clients Division. Since 2013 she has been the Vice-President of the ING Bank Śląski Management Board. Throughout the first years, until 2020, she held the position of Vice‑President supervising the Wholesale Banking Division. Then she was involved with the Risk Division. In May 2021, the Supervisory Board, with the approval of the Financial Supervision Authority, appointed Joanna Erdman as CRO.
She is a graduate of London Business School and the Warsaw School of Economics, majoring in Finance and Statistics. Over the years, she has been involved in the ING For Children Foundation - first as a member of the Foundation Board and in 2019 - 2021 as its Chair. She is a patron of the ING Volunteering programme.Since 2018, she has supervised topics relating to sustainability and ESG in ING Bank Śląski. Joanna Erdman was a Board Member of the Responsible Business Forum. She is now the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Credit Information Bureau.
