Since 2016 prof. Janusz Kotowicz is the Vice Rector for Collaboration with Civic and Economic Environment of the Silesian University of Technology. In the years 2008-2016 he was the Dean of the Faculty of Energy and Environmental Engineering for two cadences, for the years 2016-2018 he was the Director of the Institute of Power Engineering and Turbomachinery. From the 2017 prof. J. Kotowicz is the President of the College of Vice-Rectors for General Affairs, Organizations and Contacts with the Civic and Economic Environment of Public Technical Universities. The Vice Rector is the chairman of the scientific council of Institute for Chemical Processing of Coal (ICHPW) and a member of the Coordination Council for Hydrogen Management. Research activity of Prof. Janusz Kotowicz is related with advanced energy technologies limiting the negative impact on the environment. The total scientific achievements of prof. J. Kotowicz consists of 417 works, including: 8 monographs, 221 articles and 98 papers at national and international conferences. Prof. Janusz Kotowicz is the author or co-author of 57 papers in the JCR database with a total IF = 218 (papers published in TOP1 and TOP10 – eg. Applied Energy, Energy). Hirsch index without self-citations according to Scopus = 25 (135 papers).
