Prof. Celina M. Olszak, Ph.D., D.Sc.

The Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice and the Head of the Department of Business Informatics in the Faculty of Economics. Scholarship recipient of the Swiss Confederation at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zürich (ETH), the Deutsche Akademische Austausch Dienst at the University of Trier in Germany and the Bekker Program at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. She graduated from the Wrocław University of Technology, Faculty of Computer Science and Management.

Author, co-author and editor of more than 300 publications, including more than 15 monographs. Manager and Contractor of numerous research projects. Prof. Celina Olszak's research interests include design and implementation of information systems in organizations, Business Intelligence, Big Data and the impact of information technology on economy and society.

Prof. Celina Olszak is a member of multiple organizations and scientific societies, such as the Presidium of the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) or the Committee on Organization and Management Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN). She serves as the Chair of the Regional Conference of Rectors of Academic Universities (RKRUA). She is an Expert and Expert Witness for NCBiR (National Centre for Research and Development). Prof. Celina Olszak was appointed to draft the strategic program of scientific research and development in Poland. She has also served as an Expert for NCN (National Science Centre) and T-AP Social Innovation.

For all her professional achievements, Prof. Celina Olszak has been awarded the Medal of the Commission of National Education, the Cross of Merit (Gold), the Golden Laurel of Skills and Competence, and has been honored with awards for fulfilling her role as a Supervisor of doctoral dissertations in the “Best Paper Award” category during foreign conferences.
