Director, Center for Industry 4.0, Silesian University of Technology
Is professionally associated with industrial automation. In the years 1986-1990, while managing the Robotics Department at ROBRA "Chemoautomatyka", he participated in the first applications of industrial robots in the chemical industry. For the next 25 years he worked for the international concern Festo, a supplier of industrial automation solutions and components, and participated in the development and implementation of automation projects in various sectors of the domestic industry. He also led projects in Central and Eastern Europe. In the years 2010-2015 he was the CEO of Festo sp. z o.o.
In 2016, he created the "Initiative for Polish Industry 4.0" – a social movement bringing together representatives of industry, business and science, which initiates, supports and conducts activities for the transformation of the domestic industrial sector.
In 2017, he was appointed the leader of the "Industry Platform of the Future" project at the Ministry of Development, and from March 2019 to December 2020 he was the Chairman of the Board of the Platform of the Future Industry Foundation.
Since 2021, he has been managing the Center for Industry 4.0 at the Silesian University of Technology.
