Waldemar Kraska

Waldemar Kraska was born on September 4, 1963 in Sokołów Podlaski, Poland. In 1989, he graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the Medical University of Bialystok. In 1993 he obtained the first degree, and in 2000 - the second degree of specialization in general surgery. He is currently training to obtain specialization in emergency medicine.

In 1989 he started his professional career in hospital in Sokołów Podlaski. Between 1997–2001 he was the head of the Emergency Care Department at the Independent Health Care Centre in Sokołów Podlaski. Since 2004, he has been the deputy head of the General Surgery Department there. Since 2001, he has been the medical coordinator at RM-Meditrans Emergency Ambulance Unit in Sokołów Podlaski. In 2005 he became the deputy director responsible for medical services at this unit.

 

Experienced local government official and social activist. Between 1998–2005 he was member of the Sokołów Podlaski Poviat Council. Member of NSZZ "Solidarność" trade union since 1990.

Senator of the 6th, 7th, 8th and 9th term. In the current term of office in the Polish Senate he chairs the Health Committee, he also works in the National Defense Committee.

Dr Kraska combines his social and political duties with professional life – he is still active as a medical doctor.

 

Married with two sons. His wife Ewa is a pediatrician, she works in a children's ward in a hospital in Sokołów Podlaski. One of his sons is also a medical doctor, the other is studying medicine.

 

His interests include motorization and sport, in particular football and tennis.
