Veronika Movchan is an academic director at the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER) in Kyiv, Ukraine. Her main research interests are in trade policy, including WTO and EU-related issues, regional integration, non-tariff measures, quantification of trade policy instruments and modelling of policy changes. Since 2015, she has led the Ukrainian team in the project 'Understanding the EU's Association Agreements and DCFTAs with Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia', being implemented by a CEPS consortium and funded by the Swedish Government.
She has been a team leader/trade expert on a wide range of international projects covering trade policy, export development, the impact of free trade agreements, and other trade-related subjects in many countries in Europe and Asia. She is an associated consultant at BE Berlin Economics GmbH, Germany; the Editorial Board member of VoxUkraine and was a member of the EU-Ukraine Civil Society Platform (2014-2015).
She holds an MA in Economics from the National University Kyiv-Mohyla Academy in Ukraine, studied at the University of Texas in Austin, USA, and was a research fellow at Stanford University, USA.
