Jarek Rot, Executive Director at BNP Paribas Bank Polska, responsible for the Sustainability Area, member of the extended Management Board of the Bank (Executive Committee).
Graduate of the Warsaw School of Economics (dual degree), participant of numerous development programs for managers launched by, among others, the BNP Paribas Group, Harvard Business School and Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership.
For over 20 years of his professional career, he engaged numerous times in activities of working groups at the Polish Bank Association, thus contributing to the development of new standards and solutions for capital management (including, among others, implementation of the New Capital Accord and subsequent Basel papers), as well as short- and long-term liquidity (securitization, MBS). The Polish Bank Association designated him as an expert supporting parliamentary works of the Public Finance Committee with regard to securitization and representing the banking sector in consultations on the above mentioned issues, held with the Polish Financial Supervision Authority and the Ministry of Finance. For over a decade he has been involved in the creation of the Polish interbank market, in cooperation with representatives of other banks and the National Bank of Poland.
For several years, he has been actively supporting the development of programs and instruments allowing to counteract climate change and encouraging sustainable development. Initiator of the centre of competence established at Bank BNP Paribas in 2018 in terms of financing sustainable development programs in cooperation with international and domestic financial institutions.
Since 2020, he has been the Bank's Chief Sustainability Officer and Chairman of the Sustainability Council.
Awarded with an Honorary Distinction of the Polish Bank Association for his contribution in the development of the Polish banking sector. He is a co-founder and Chairman of the Assets & Liabilities Managers Committee at the Polish Bank Association.
