A manager with extensive experience in the field of digital affairs.
In the 2018-2020 period, he served as the Deputy Minister of Health and was responsible for the computerisation of the health sector, including supervision of the Health Care Information Systems Centre. This period saw the successful implementation of such projects as Patient Internet Account, e-prescriptions and e-referrals. Since April 2021, he has been serving as the Vice-Chairman of the Council for Digital Affairs. Through their knowledge and expertise, the members of the Council support the Council of Ministers Committee for Digital Affairs and other bodies. The Council reviews documents, both strategic and others, related to digital affairs, connectivity and the development of the information society.
Between November 2020 and 7 June 2021, Janusz Cieszyński served as the First Deputy Mayor of Chełm. His responsibilities included raising funds for investment projects and supervising the preparation of a transformation plan for the municipal heating plant due to the need to comply with EU climate goals.
He also worked as an advisor to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki at the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Finance, and in the 2016-2017 period, he headed the Department of Small and Medium Enterprises at the Ministry of Development. Furthermore, Mr Cieszyński ran a company focused on providing business and legal consultancy for SME sector entrepreneurs, and in the 2009-2014 period, also worked for a leading telecom company.
The Secretary of State for Digital Affairs at the Chancellery of the Prime Minister performs tasks specified by the minister responsible for computerisation and coordinates the implementation of government administration and computerisation efforts. The Government Plenipotentiary for Cybersecurity coordinates actions and implementation procedures related to the government cybersecurity policy in the Republic of Poland.
