Jan is a Senior Advisor at PwC in Poland, working in Central and Eastern Europe, and is an
economist by training.
He is an experienced expert in environmental economics, environmental and climate policy
and sustainable green financing. He was President of the Management Board of the
National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management for 5 years (2008-13).
He worked as a financier at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development in the
municipal and environmental infrastructure team (2004-8). He was a member of international
and national think tanks dealing with energy transition (American Regulatory Assistance
Project and Polish Energy Forum). He is currently involved in the preparation of the National
Energy and Climate Plan for Romania, Decarbonisation Fund for Bulgaria, Investor Dialogue
- Clean Energy Financial Instruments for the European Commission. He believes that
valuable ideas are born in discussions and clashing views.
He has no car, enjoys cycling, walking in the mountains and reading the English press.
