Prof. dr hab. Jan Klimek is an economist, lecturer, entrepreneur, craftsman, and politician. He organizes and participates in scientific meetings devoted to small and medium-sized enterprises. He has always been in intensive contact with business practice. He is the President of the Management Board of the Chamber of Crafts and Small and Medium-sized Enterprises in Katowice, as well as the Vice-President of the Polish Craft Association in Warsaw.
He is a research and didactic worker at the Warsaw School of Economics. He is the Director of the Institute of Enterprise and is the originator and manager of the Department of Family Enterprise at the College of Enterprise Sciences at the Warsaw School of Economics.
An active advisor both on the domestic / regional market and abroad. He co-founded and managed the Polish-Swiss project to support entrepreneurship in Poland. He performs advisory functions in many institutions and public entities. He is a member of the European Economic and Social Committee in Brussels as well as a member of the Social Dialogue Council - as chairman of the team for European funds and a member of the Presidium of the Central Council of Science and Higher Education of the 12th term.
Author of numerous publications on ethics, entrepreneurship development, and management improvement in the SME sector and corporate social responsibility. Among his publications, few can be distinguished like: "Hermeneutics of entrepreneurship", "Economic challenges of the 21st century", "Improving the efficiency of small and medium-sized enterprises", "In a family business. The emergence, development, threats and opportunities "," Intelligent development of a family business and modern values ".
In the field of scientific activity, it is necesary to highlight the following titles: "Corporate Social Responsibility in Poland", "Global transformation of business and society", "SME strategy. Entrepreneurship - Competitiveness - Development ”and for the monograph entitled "Business ethics. Theoretical assumptions, the practice of applications ”, was awarded the Rector's Award of the Warsaw School of Economics.
He was awarded many times for work and activities towards development of entrepreneurship and the country.
