Agnieszka Smoleńska

Dr Agnieszka Smoleńska is assistant professor at the Institute of Law Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences, where she leads a three-year NCN grant-funded research project “The EU’s sustainability capitalism: identifying the varieties of financial markets transition”. She is part of numerous international research networks on green finance, including the Working Group on Finance, Climate Change and Sustainability at the European Banking Institute in Frankfurt. She defended her PhD on EU banking law at the European University Institute.

Dr Smoleńska has built extensive experience in international policy, including at the European Parliament, European Commission and the Florence School of Banking and Regulation (FBF). She carried out research projects for World Bank and the OECD. For three years she headed the European desk of the analytical centre Polityka Insight in Warsaw.

She has published articles on EU financial supervision architecture, euro area economic governance and sustainable finance.
