Professor Zdzisław Krasnodębski is a leading Polish sociologist and social philosopher, author of a number of books of reference in these fields. He taught sociology, social theory and philosophy at the Universities of Warsaw, Kassel and, in particular, Bremen, where he spent 25 years of his academic career. He also lectured as visiting professor at the Catholic University of America, Columbia University and several other universities in the US and the UK.
In 2014, he was elected Member of the European Parliament from the list of the Law and Justice Party (re-elected in 2019), later serving as EP Vice-President, and currently as Vice-Chair of its Committee on Industry, Research and Energy. Additionally to his duties in Brussels and Strasbourg, Professor Krasnodębski is a member of the Board of the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Chairman of the Council of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute and co-Chairman of the Polish-British Belvedere Forum Steering Committee.
