Position: General Manager

Before taking over the position of General Manager at Microsoft in Poland, Mark Loughran had been the General Manager of the Consumer & Devices Sales division at Microsoft UK for 3.5 years. Together with his team, he achieved outstanding results in the sales of consumer products and solutions offered by Microsoft UK.

Over the years, his professional career included a number of industries and markets. Initially, he was engaged in the healthcare sector and the sales to the public sector. For 14 years, he worked for GlaxoSmithKline. For 6 years, he managed the company’s business in the Central and Eastern Europe, of which, for 4 years, he worked and lived in Poland, holding the position of General Manager and President of the Management Board at GSK Poland. In this period of time, he led the merger of Polfa Poznan with the international business of GSK. Mark Loughran also sat on the board of the Confederation of Polish Employers (KPP), currently known as the Employers of Poland, which is the oldest and largest umbrella organisation of employers in Poland.

Mark Loughran also held the position of Sales Director and, next, General Manager at Nokia UK & Ireland, where he introduced the first smartphone into the British market. Later, he worked for PACE (currently known as Arris), a television and broadband technology company, where he led a team of hardware and software engineers and sales teams responsible for the sales of digital services and digital platform to the biggest telecommunication companies, offering pay TV services, in the world.

Mark Loughran has an MA and PhD from the University of Cambridge.
