In 2001, he obtained a diploma with distinction in chemical technology. He completed his Master’s thesis in the Chair of Organic Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry of the Gdańsk University of Technology. In the Chair of Electrochemistry, Corrosion and Materials Engineering of that Faculty, he completed his doctoral studies in conductive polymers. He received his PhD degree in 2007. He also holds an MBA degree from the Gdańsk Foundation for Management Development. He has authored or co-authored seven scientific publications.
In 2017, he was appointed to the Management Board of Grupa LOTOS S.A. as Vice President for Production. In the following year, he was offered the position of Vice President of the Management Board for Production and Trade. He is responsible for the core issues related to crude oil processing, namely refining production, asset management and maintenance, technological support and production support, as well as for business processes and shaping tactics and strategies for sales and logistics of petroleum products.
Since the beginning of his professional career, Mr Kawula has worked at the Grupa LOTOS refinery in Gdańsk, for the last ten years holding management positions connected with crude oil processing and production control.
