Manager with extensive international experience gained in leading financial and investment institutions.
Started his career in investment banking with Citigroup, first in Paris, and then in London. In the Paris office, he worked on advisory teams supporting international capital transactions (mergers and acquisitions). In London, he advised international customers including Shell, ConocoPhillips, Gaz de France or Dubai Aluminium Company and Saudi Electric Company on multi-billion projects using the Project Finance formula.
In 2008, he joined a team of international experts at Mubadala Development Company, a state investment company in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. While at Mubadala, he was responsible for financing investment projects and training future managers. Prestigious magazines, the “Project Finance Journal”, “Project Finance International” and “Euromoney” named three projects under his management “transactions of the year”. On return to Europe, worked for Kulczyk Investments in London as Corporate Finance Director.
As of September 2013, Investment Director at the Polish Development Fund. Since then, managed to enter into an investment agreement with Tauron Polska Energia, providing for the biggest PDF stake to date, of 750m PLN. Responsible for the first PDF transaction with a Polish private company (PESA Bydgoszcz).
Marcin Piasecki graduated from the ESCP Europe in Paris (Finance) and the Poznan University of Economics (Department of Business Administration), and completed the postgraduate INSEAD Executive Program and the General Electric Leadership Program.
In cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Economics of the Warsaw School of Economics, he conducts research in the field of economic growth mechanisms and publishes articles in the “International Journal of Management and Economics”. Pioneered “The SAs of the Polish Economy” program, carried out through the independent Freedom Institute think tank. The initiative aims at developing support mechanisms for the continued dynamic growth of Polish private enterprises.
