Dave Barry is Vice President of the Americas Region for Bombardier Transportation’s Systems Division. Appointed to this position on August 1, 2011, Mr. Barry is responsible for the turnkey supply of rail transportation systems for the Americas market, which includes Canada, United States, Mexico, Central America and South America.
Mr. Barry began his career at Bombardier in 1990. In 1994, he was appointed Project Director for a major rolling stock project in Hong Kong. He subsequently held various positions in Project Management and Sales in Europe. In 2005, Mr. Barry was appointed Vice President of the Gautrain Rapid Rail Link Project, Bombardier’s 1.5 BUSD turnkey project in South Africa to build an 80-km rail system to connect Johannesburg, Tshwane (Pretoria) and the O.R. Tambo International Airport. In that position, he recruited and led a multi-national, multi-disciplinary project delivery team, which peaked at nearly 1,000 people.
Born in Dublin, Ireland, Dave Barry holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University College in Cork, Ireland.
