Position: Expert for Cultural Policy

Artur Celiński is a political scientist, urban thinker, and expert on the cultural policies as well as being a founding member and deputy editor of Magazyn Miasta (Cities Magazine). Additionally, he is the leader of the urban research think-tank “City DNA”. Curator of an international project “Ortsgespräche” organized by Goethe-Institut.

He is interested in the process of urban development, the adoption and evaluation of cultural policies, supporting active communities and creating conditions for residents to participate in making major policy decisions relating to the area in which they live. Not only has he worked as a consultant to 13 Polish cities (including Warsaw and Wroclaw) and a nationally recognised institution (as National Centre for Culture Poland), but he also functioned as an adviser to the national government of Poland (during work on the National Urban Policy).

He has spoken at over 100 conferences and workshops (including the European Economic Congress in Katowice, the Congress of Culture in Warsaw, Smart Metropolia 2016 - The 5th Metropolitan International Congress in Gdansk or reSite in Prague). He has been published in notable newspapers and journals such as "Gazeta Wyborcza”, "Polska The Times”, “Liberal Culture”, “Social Europe Journal”, “OstEurope”, and “Res Publica Nowa”.
