Wojciech Saługa

Position: Marshal of the Silesian Voivodeship

Wojciech Saługa was born in 1969, and a quarter century later he graduated from Cracow University of Economics. In the years 1994-2002 he was working in ING Bank. From 1998 to 2002 he held seat in the City Council of Jaworzno. In 2002, he was reelected and became a vice-mayor, in charge of planning and investment, geodesy, real estate management and services for investors. In 2004, he was elected to the Polish Senate, and the following year he won another election and started serving as a member of the Polish Parliament on three consecutive terms. In that time he was a member of Committee for Economy (also a Sub-Committee for power engineering), committee for European Union and Committee for Public Finance. On December 1, 2014 he was elected Marshal of Silesia. Presently, he is a leader of Civic Platform party in Silesia. Married, father of two children. His hobby is mountain hiking and sailing.
