Tomasz Żornaczuk

Position: Head of the Central Europe Programme

Head of the Central Europe Programme at the Polish Institute of International Affairs. His main interests are the Western Balkans and EU enlargement, as well as Central Europan coopeation, including within Visegrad Group. While at PISM, he was coordinator of the ‘Thinking for Governance’ project on civil society in EU integration of the Western Balkans. He previously worked as a Western Balkans desk officer for the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw, and the Department of Political Affairs at the United Nations HQ in New York.

He graduated from Maastricht University and Doğuş University (Istanbul) in European Studies Analysis. Tomasz also holds a degree from the University of Warsaw in European Integration and Slavic Studies. He occasionally lectures on EU enlargement in Foreign Policy Studies and on European integration at the University of Warsaw. Tomasz also writes on this subjects for Polish, Central European and Balkan publications.
