Teresa Blacharska

Position: Treasurer of the City of Gdańsk

Educated as an economist with excellent knowledge in finances based on long, professional experience. From the very beginning her career has developed in local administration. She used to be a director of the Financial Department at the City Hall of Gdansk for many years before she was appointed the City Treasurer. Blacharska has also frequently taken very active part in numerous activities of great significance for the city and its residents.
She has co-written several reports and research papers on the finances of large metropolitan self-governments and authored research papers of fundamental importance for the Union of Polish Metropolises.
Currently, Blacharska is also a member of the Supervisory Boards of several municipal companies.

 The responsibilities of the City Treasurer include:

- Supervision over the drawing up of the city budget, keeping the city accounts, control over the city finances

- Supervision over the City's financial policy

- Control of the public finance management

- Cooperation with international financial institutions and banks
