Reimer Böge

Position: Member of the European Parliament

Since 1989 Reimer Böge is Member of the European Parliaments Committee on Budgets, which he chaired from 2007-2009 and co-chaired for seven years before. In 2004 he was general rapporteur of the EP on the Multiannual Financial Framework 2007-2013, for which he also was standing rapporteur during its implementation. In 2013 he was rapporteur for the current MFF applying to the years 2014-2020. Böge studied Economic and Agrarian Sciences at the University of Kiel, where he graduated in 1976. In 1975 he became independent farmer and member of the Christian Democratic Union (CDU), for which he was elected to the European Parliament in 1989 for the first time. 2013-2014 he was Chairman of the CDU Party of Schleswig-Holstein. In 2017 he was honoured by the Federal Republic of Germany with the 1st Class Federal Cross of Merit for his political merits. Reimer Böge was born 1951 in Hasenmoor, which is part of his constituency Schleswig-Holstein. Reimer Böge is married and has two grown up children.
