Jacek Szołtysek, Prof., Ph.D. is a full professor at University of Economics in Katowice. His research interest focuses on social logistics, especially when the aim of activities shapes the quality of life. His main areas of theoretical and practical activities focus on urban area, healthcare and problems of elderly people. His research projects are related to creating public spaces in cities, adjusting cities to handicap and senior citizens, organizing transport systems in cities and changing citizens behaviours. He is known as author of books on cities problems, reverse logistics and contemporary problems of non-classical logistics applications. His research has appeared in academic and practitioner-oriented journals published in Polish, English and Russian languages in Poland and abroad. He wrote 6 books, 7 textbooks, over 60 chapters in books and more than 200 papers. He is currently a member of Polish Logistics Society and a member of transportation committee of Polish Academy of Science.
