Annette Kroeber-Riel has been working for Google since 2007 as the Director of Public Policy & Government Relations for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. She has recently taken on the role to oversee affairs in Central and Eastern Europe as well. After studying Law in Frankfurt and Paris, and completing legal clerkships in Frankfurt and Kuala Lumpur, she worked as a lawyer with specific interest in the field of telecommunications and media at a US law firm in Frankfurt. She then moved to Berlin to work for VeriSign, where she was responsible for European government relations for both VeriSign and for its then subsidiary Jamba.
